Lauren Parker is a District 1 resident who travels around Oakland via foot, bike, and transit. She firmly believes that the best way to learn a city is to walk it. As a car-free person, she uses that to guide her conventions around sustainable and accessible transit. During the day, she’s a product marketing manager in the fitness and wellness space. Previously she was marketing manager for regional transit agencies in Portland, OR and Durham, NC focusing on improving the rider experience and shifting people from driving alone. In her free time, she can be found riding a bike to nowhere (indoor cycling instructor), cooking for friends, exploring her new backyard, and taking long walks and hikes.
